About:Fenghuang Ancient Town

I plan to visit from Zhangjiajie, what is the best route to get to Fenghuang?

Is it better to take the bus or is there a train that would be quicker?

By bus: you can take a bus to to the town from ZJJ Bus Station. The buses are scheduled at 8:30 and 14:30, and the trip takes about 4 hours. And I remember that the ticket fare is about CNY 45 per person.

By train: take a train to Jishou from ZJJ Railway Station (about 2 hours). Upon arrival, take a bus to the town (about 1 hour).
You can choose the way you like.
