About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Living in Tokyo, German passport holder

Hello,
I am Bjoern and living since 3 years in Tokyo, Japan (working visa). I want to travel to China (just for tourist purposes), however i read confusing messages with regard to the application procedure. Question, do I have to involve a travel agency in order to obtain a tourist visa? And if yes, where do I find these agencies and what do i have to bring with me for the application. I really appreciate your feedback and support!!! Thanks, Bjoern

Dear, you don’t have to find a travel agency to apply for you. The reason why the embassy advises the applicant to use a travel agency is that there are many applicants waiting there to submit their applications. If you go there, you may need to wait for a long time. So you can apply for it on your own.
You should first prepare those documents including your passport and its photocopy, the application form and a passport-sized color photo, your residence permit in Japan, as well as round trip air tickets and hotel reservation. And then submit your application to the embassy of PRC to apply for it.
