About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Connection in different cities

I'm flying from Taiwan to Beijing but my flight will stop at Shanghai. This is just a connection flight, I'm not gonna go out the city. Am I eligible for 72 hour free transit?

Dear, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit because as for the 72 hour policy, you are only allowed to stop in one Chinese city, but you will stop in two cities.

Even so, it is considered you transit in two Chinese cities. So I'm afraid you can't use the 72h free transit. :(
