About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

If mom in USA, dad in China, do embassy still need orginal passport of both parents

If mom in USA, dad in PRC, do embassy still need original passport of both parents and original marriage certificate? Is it copy ok? Or need to bring to china USA embassy to notarized?

Home, can you provide more information? Are you an adult or minor? Which passport you hold? What are your parent’s citizenships? Or are you a child born in the U. S. to a Chinese Parent? Please be more specific. :)

I am their friend. A woman come w traveler visa give birth, her husband still in China, both are Chinese citizen, both not green card holder. The newborn want China travel document fly back China. Online claim baby have to apply in person w parents. It said it need both parent original passport. But the father still in China, should I ask him mail in original passport? Or copy ok or need notaried copy? How about marriage certificate? Need original copy too?

Dear, yes, the original passports of both parents are required, but if the father is in PRC, the copy of all pages in his passport. So he doesn’t need to mail his original passport to US. The passport doesn’t need to be notarized.
The original and copy of their marriage certificate is required if they have it.
Besides, in principle, both parents should go to the consulate general to apply for it for their child. But if the father cannot be there, he needs to provide a notarized written statement to consent his partner to apply for the travel documents for the child.

They loss the org marriage certificate, they only have a notarized one, is it good enough?

The notarized written statement to consent his partner to apply for the travel document need to be Notaried by USA embassy in China or by Chinese notarizatiin department is ok.

The notarization of the marriage certificate is ok.

The consent letter should be notarized by a Chinese notarization department.
