About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for 144 HR free transit if i fly from Taipei to Shanghai then to Hong Kong?

I am a U.S. citizen and I will be flying from Taipei to Shanghai for 3 days. Then I will fly to Hong Kong.
