About:Forbidden City

Do you need to give Forbidden City your passport information in advance?

I ask because I'm visiting Beijing and the tour company is asking for passport information because they say the palace needs it in advance.

Um, that's true. The travel agency will book tickets for you in advance through the reservation website and the passport numbers seem needed.
