US citizen traveling to the Philippines with a stopover in Bejing

US citizen traveling to the Philippines for one (1) week with a stopover in Bejing both ways. My US passport expires on August 2016.

Will I be encountering any problems? Do I need to renew my passport? I am leaving in 13 days.

If your stopover time in Beijing is less than 72 hours, you can use the free transit. And I think you won’t encounter any problems. You can use your current passport.
