About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get the 72 hour visa free transit at the airprot?

Hello! I wanted to ask if I will arrive to Shanghai and don't have other tickets to continue The trip can I receive the 72 hours free transit at the airport or any kind of short stay? For example when I was living in Shenzhen even if you don't have Chinese entry permit and you entering PRC you can receive stay for 5 days. Please let me know what kind of permission I can receive to stay couple days in Shanghai . Thank you

Anastasia, you mean you go to Shenzhen with a 5-day VOA, right? If yes, you can only travel around Shenzhen.
You cannot go to Shanghai to enjoy the 72 hour free transit because it requires that you transit in Shanghai and have a confirmed air ticket to a third country or region; besides, you are only allowed to stop in ONE Chinese city if you want to use the 72 hour free transit. So according to what you mentioned above, I don’t think you can receive any permission to stay in Shanghai.
