Transit Visa to HK

Hi , I will be traveling to Fiji Islands next week with my wife. The airline is CX & I'll be traveling via HK. I was advised by the tracker agent to apply for a transit visa to HK. Is this so? If so what's the cost, documents & duration to obtain same ?

Yes, you need to apply for a transit visa for HK transit. It usually costs HKD100. The required documents are as follows:
1. Copy of your passport
2. The completed application form attached with a passport-style photo
3. Proof of your financial support
4. Transportation arrangement such as flight itinerary
5. Proof of the proposed visit in the next destination after transiting in HK.
And then submit your application to the embassy of PRC to apply for it. If the embassy deals with your application on its own, it usually takes 4 working days; but if the application is transferred to HK immigration department, 4 to 6 weeks are needed.
