visa requirements for cruise ship entry to shanghaixingang

Question

HelloWe are Australians and will be arriving by cruise ship in March 2017. The ship docks in Shanghai and stays 2 days (overnight on board), we then have 2 days at sea and arrive in Xingang for 2 days (overnight on board). What are the visa requirements for this please?RegardsDiane Brooks

Diane, you cannot use the 72 hour visa-free transit because it is only applicable to those by flight. I’m afraid you need to apply for a visa in advance to enter PRC. You may need to apply for a double-entry one.
