About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From Dubai to los angeles USA

Hi friend,

I have a connection flight from Dubai to Los Angeles USA and my flights has two stops, 1st in Kunming International Airport (2h 30 mins layover) and 2nd at Shanghai International Airport (8h 45mins layover)
I hold Afghanistan possport with US Green card.

My concerns:
Will I be issued a a transit visa at the first chinese Airport?
Will not need any transit permit?
Or I have to obtain a china transit permit here at PRC embassy in Afghanistan?

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely

Hi Jame, I think you are eligible for the 24-hour free transit policy, so you will be issued a transit permit at the first PRC airport. You don't to apply for the transit permit at the PRC embassy. You can confirm this with the airlines.
