i want to buy an octobus card with a 1-day airport travel express in hong kong.

But I need the card for 4 days instead of just the 3 days it comes with.  How can I get an additional day of use of the card?

Yeah, you are right about that. If you buy the travel pass with single trip AE ride, you can enjoy three days consecutive rides on MTR. For the fourth day, you can also use it if you reload the pass. It will become a normal octopus card after toping it up.
