Is it difficult to take Shanghai subway to a hotel?
With luggage and kids 10 and 11 years.

Yes, if your hotel is near the subway station, you can surely use subway as your travel option. Just remember to avoid taking subway in rush hours 7am-8am and 5pm and 7pm.2
