could someone tell me something about studying in haikou?

Question

I'm not asking about universities itself but more about climate of the city, cleaness of putonghua on the streets and so on. I'm afraid of coming there, because I don't want to go to some silly holiday resort where everything is brand new and shiny. I want to see real China, old men playing majhong and drinking tea. Thank you

It is a tropical city. It is warm and hot all year around. The air quality is pretty excellent. The locals like to play majhong and drink tea in their spare time. Though the Putonghua the locals speak is not very clear, you can get accustomed to it gradually. The blue sea and the vast beach will fascinate you a lot! Have a wonderful time there!
