New 144 hour visa free transit

Hi, I will be flying into PVG and staying for 3 days before joining a cruise
I think this will be covered by the 144 hour free transit but i read that the company i am travelling with must submit my documents in advance to get the 144 hour free transit, is this correct?

Mike, it’s correct. You can use the 144 hour free transit and you should inform the cruise company in advance so that they can notify the immigration inspection in Shanghai about your request of application for 144 hour free transit. So if they said so, you can do that.
