what kind of visa should i apply for? - i'm a hungarian citizen

Dear Sir/Madam!Good afternoon! I'm planing a trip to china and want to stay there for at least 4 to 5 months. What kind of entry permit should I apply for in this situation? Mostly, I will stay with a hungarian friend of mine (who lives in Shanghai) and maybe travel to other citys or teach english for a while. Should I try for an F or Q1 type?Many thanks in advance!

Lily, F or Q1 type is not suitable to your situation because according to what you said, you go there mainly for tourism purpose. In this case, you should apply for a tourist L type, but it won’t allow you to stay 4 or 5 months in PRC and if you enter with an L type, you are not allowed to work. So if you can find a job now, you’d better apply for a work Z type. If so, you can work and travel.
