I wouldn't say Qin Shi Huang did "bad things" more as he had some "faults" or "mistakes". No one really talks about these "faults" because all the things that he did impacted China so greatly that it outweighed the facts of these "faults", almost (almost) illuminating his faults from anyone else who now wants to understand the past. However, these "faults" are still there, they're in the past, and we can uncover them.
Some of these "faults" were:
. burning books
. burying scholars alive
. creating slaves (from other states) and starving them with 1 bowl of rice
. unifying China (I know, this is a good thing, but it's also bad. Qin Shi Huang unified China for the power. That's what the Warring States Period was all about. Power. Even with the unified country, four years after Qin Shi Huang's death it happened again. They all broke apart and started to fight. So there wasn't even a point in the first place why to unify them if they couldn't coexist like that.)
I want to say even with my point said, I totally agree there was a reasonable reason for why Qin Shi Huang did these things and don't just focus on the bad stuff for your homework ok?
Thanks for helping me with my homework that helped so much, so I thought I should give back the favour, so here you go. Some of this is my own thoughts, so please go search google or whatever you use before typing down whatever I've told you, because it may be wrong.
Also if you don't know one of the words I've used don't waste time asking me, ask google because I'm probably not coming back unless I need more information on Qin Shi Huang again.
