What to do with suitcases

Hi, we are a family of 5 traveling to china for the first time. We each have a checked-in luggage (bigger suitcase). Is it possible to travel with this, if we are thinking of taking trains from beijing to shanghai and xian? Are there any limits on size and weight, and will it cost extra? Also are there any places to store some of the suitcases for 2 weeks then, while traveling around with train, before we end up in beijing again. I appreciate the help!

Yes, it's possible. There are always luggage storage service at train stations, airports and main attractions. You can also store the luggage at the front desk of your hotel in Beijing, which is usually free of charge. Normally it won't cost extra to take train with big luggage.
