Steps in getting the visa

Gd day, i need your help!im applying for a Chinese tourist L type from Trinidad. I'm wondering what are the steps in gettin it. i understand that i have to drop in the application with my passport & pic..but do i attach other documents to the application like my confirmed flights & hotel reservations, job letter, bank statement or do i send in the application alone..do i send in my passport with the application? When and where at what point in time i make payment? Please help me asap as im traveling next month!!..and my pasport expires in Sept (5 months validity ) do
