American citizen becoming Chinese

Hi, I was born in the US and therefore have American citizenship, but I have 2 Chinese parents and now live in China and would like CN citizenship. 1) Does the PRC government require proof that I've rescinded my American citizenship? and 2) If I give up the American citizenship, can I acquire it again at a later point (assuming I have to give up my CN citizenship at that point)?

Thanks!

Hello, you can go to the US Embassy in PRC to cancel your American nationality first. They may issue you certain proof. Go to the local Public Security Bureau to handle some procedure to get PRC nationality. Your parents are Chinese citizens, so prepare some documents of them as well. It won't be that hard. To retrive American citizenship, you should go to the PSB and handle something as well.
