visa needed ? customer services are VERY confused about this

hi! we are 2 adults ( 1 Italian and 1 Taiwanese ) . We want to go round trip to Italy but we noticed that we will pass by SHANGAI airport for a layover of 15 hours more or less. 1 Taiwanese can get the quick entry permit in a travel agency in Taipei but what's about me ( 1 Italian ) ? Do I need an entry permit for a layover in Shangai? In case I need it, where can I take it ?

Mark, so you will fly from Taiwan to Shanghai and then to Italy? If you only stop in Shanghai, you can enjoy the 72h free transit policy and the entry permit is not required.
