Air B&B for 72h Visa free transit?

Hi, first off thank you for this very informative web site!

My fiance and I are arriving in Shanghai on Mar 1 at 8:10pm from Tokyo and fly out to Chiang Mai on Mar 4 at 10:30am. I assume that will be fine as it is less than 72 hours.

I do wonder if staying at an Air B&B during that time is acceptable or if only a proper hotel would be accepted.
