can i get a chinese visa in macauhk during chinese new year?

I am a US citizen. I am looking to arrive in HK on CNY. I would like to go mainland, but mine has expired. Can I renew there or apply for single entry in HK or Macau? I do not have time or ability to go to the embassy in the USA and in South America they have different requirements to apply. Plus it takes a long time. Thanks

B, although HK authorities require that the applicants who apply there should provide their HK resident status, many people from UK and USA still got their entry permits. If the policy hasn't changed, I think you will apply successfully in HK.
