Britt, you'd better consult with your airline company. You know, different airlines usually have different requirements. Some airlines allow passengers to take two pieces of checked luggage. Also it has something to do with your seat. Is it economy, business or first class seat?

Economy. I've tried to get through to China Southern but have yet to get answer by phone or email. The website say two checked luggages equaling 158 cm and weighing 23kg each. I only ask because I have read online that the website had an error and it was two checked luggages weighing 23 kg total, not each. I guess I'm scared to get to the airport and have to pay extra.

Britt, I got the same result on its official website. But I also checked other websites. They gave the same result. Economy passengers can take 2 pieces and each should be no more than 23kg. Actually, they have different luggage policy regarding of different air routes. Those economy passengers who fly from Janpan, America, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and Singapore can take two pieces of checked luggage.

So I think the information on the official website is correct.

Thanks for checking up on it. Guess I'll make I stay within the requirements and see how it goes. Based on the website I should be fine.
