Shanghai layover for 8 hours

Hi,

I am a Filipino married to a German national. On our flight back to Germany on 30.Jan, we have 8 hours layover in Shanghai and would like to visit Shanghai city center during that time. Would I be allowed to get out of the airport without a visa for that layover period? I am a Philippines passport holder. If not possible for me, may I ask what my options are?

Thank you.

Dear, you can go out of the airport without a transit permit. But you need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration counter in the airport before you go out.
