Dialect and food in Shantou

I m thinking of visiting swatow this June n is my 1st visit. From the reviews of some visitors, it says that Cantonese is widely spoken so is its cuisine. I m puzzled! I m Teochew so is Teochew spoken there as well as teochew food?
