Can a type of visa be changed without leaving China?

Hi, I´m currently starting to work in PRC and my girlfriend will come to visit me.
She has aply for an L type and once she arrives we´re planning to marry in the consulate/embassy. After getting married can she change the type of her stay permit to get longer stay without leaving PRC mainand?
