About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am US citizen, flying from SFO to India.

I have a 15 hour layover in Shanghai and then 12 hours layover in Kunming, before I go to India. Will I get a transit visa?

Zina, as you stop over in two China cities, you are not eligible for the 72-hour free transit. So I think you had better apply for a transit G type entry permit in advance, to play it safe.
