medication to china

we are traveling in april and one of our party takes morphine and Oxycontin. we have been told we may have a problem with this. also been told to contact the embassy but we cant get anyone to answer the phone. the travel agents just tell us to contact the embassy. can you let me know if we are ok taking this medication for personal use for a ongoing problem. we will have a doctors letter stating why she need the medication and only taking enough for her use and in original boxes or bottles. staring to get very frustrated we cant get an answer from travel agents or from the embassy to answer the phone. we have emailed but no idea when that will be answered. worried she wont be able to go

Kath, morphine and cocaine are not allowed to enter. However, if you really need these medicines, you should get the medical certificate and prescription from your doctor. When you pass the customs, please declare the medicine to the officers.

Kath, I still suggest you should declare at the customs. It's much safer to do this.
