Travelling to Shenzhen for 24 hours then Shanghai for three days from Thailand

Hi

I'm going to be travelling to Shanghai via Shenzhen in early Feb and am confused about the visa requirements or if I can get away without an entry permit?

I am a UK passport holder.

Chris, as you will travel in two cities, you don't qualify for the 72-hour free transit policy or the Shenzhen VOA, so you need to get an L type entry permit in advance. To apply for it, your passport, a passport copy, a fully completed application form, a 48 x 33 mm color bare-headed photo, and transportation tickets and hotel reservations are needed.
