Dear, do both of you two hold Singapore passports? If yes and you come for tourism purpose, you two can enjoy free entry to mainland PRC for a stay of no more than 15 days. In this way, you don’t need entry permit.
If both of you hold Thailand passports and just go to Shenzhen or Zhuhai, it’s possible for you to get a VOA; however, if you plan to go to other cities in PRC, you should apply for an entry permit in advance of your trip.
