Which is the best place to spend New Year's Eve in Shanghai?

I'll be there with my best buddy from San Francisco from 29 Dec to 1st January. We'll stay somewhere on the Bund. Would you have any suggestions for us for these 2 days and the New Year's Eve? We are ready to explore any place, would like to meet new friends!
