About:China Visa Application Requirements

Is a medical report still mandatory for Z visa before the application process in the Philippines?

or is it ok to do it in china only? I was told that there has been some changes in the policies in the last few years.

Gina, you are right. A medical report is mandatory when you apply for your Z type. After you get the Z type and reach PRC, then you should do another medical check at the appointed hospital before you get to the entry and exit management bureau to apply for your resident permit for employment.

Hi Grace I am a bit confused when I asked the embassy in Manila they told me the rules had changed in the last 2 years and a medical was no longer needed as I would do one in China, but I read different info everywhere?

Gina, you don't need it when applying for the Z type from you country. The medical report is only needed after you enter China to apply for the residence permit.
