About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am Australian citizen flying from Paris to Guangzhou and after 32 hours transit fly on to Perth.

Flight is with the same China Southern airline, do I need to collect all luggage and take it with me from the airport?
I expect the 72hour visa free option applies?

Dear, if you hold joint-way air tickets issued by the same airline, you may not need to collect your luggage, but you’d better contact with the airline and confirm. You are eligible for the 72 hour free transit. Have a good trip!
