can i work in china sz holding a tourist visa? the company wants me as tourist

I am a Filipino Citizen going to work in Shenzhen China. The company does not want to issue an invitation letter or letter of recommendation so I can apply a Business entry permit. Instead they want me to apply for a Tourist L type and start working on their company as a Probationary employee. The risk is all on me and none for them, I am afraid that I will be going to PRC illegaly.Any advice on what to do?Thank you very much.

If you want to work in PRC, it's required that you should get a work Z type. It's illegal to work on the tourist L type, even though they are saying you are a probationary employee. In addtion, the L type and business M type generally only allow you to stay for 30 days. When the 30 days ends, you have to leave. So I don't think it's wise to apply an L type or M type. You need to talk with the employer and request for a work license as well as a letter from government to apply for the Z type.
