About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

flight to Auckland via Beijing

I understand we qualify for the 24 hours free travel into Beijing, what are the main drawback?

I am worried about taking our luggage with us and also slightly paranoid about how long it will take to check back in as we only have a 10 hour stopover before our linking flight.

Any details would be kindly accepted.

Thanks

Ben

Dear, after arrival, if you don't leave the airport, the time is enough for sure.
If you plan to leave the airport, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit and then exit. It only takes a few minutes. You'd better leave at least 3 hours to go back to the airport and handle relevant boarding procedures.

What's the commute like into Beijing? I imagine we should get around 6hrs in Beijing which sounds like it's worth doing.

Thanks for your information

Best regards

Dear, the journey between the airport and the downtown area takes about 1.5 hours. So you have around four hours to tour the city.
You can take subway, airport shuttle bus, city buses or taxis outside the airport to where you want to visit. Transportation there is very convenient.
