Passport Validity, can I enter China with it?

Hi,

I am planning a stopover in Shanghai arriving from NZ and departing 36hrs later for France. My NZ passport will have five months validity remaining on it. Am I still able to get the 72-hours transit permit or is a passport with greater than 6 months validity required?

Thank you and regards, Ben

Yes, you are still eligible. The passport is ok and you don't have to renew it.
