About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

21 hours transit in Beijing, Beijing Capital Int.

I am arriving at Beijing at 5:30 from Germany, I have around 21 hours transit, than I will get the next flight to Melbourne at 1:05 on the following day. It is less than 24 hours transit, so I think I don't need a visa for it.

Am I allowed to leave the Airport during the transit to visit a little bit around? Am I responsible if there is some delay and my transit exceeds 24 hours?
Thank you in advance.

Actually, you are also eligible for 72 hours free transit there. In this case, you needn't worry about exceeding the time limit. Meanwhile, you can exit the airport to tour around the city. However, you should remember to follow the instructions to reach the window where to apply for the free transit after arrival.

Sorry, Michael. You can't make use of the free transit by train. It requires the passengers should fly in and fly out.
