About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Is a one way entry visa into China required and what is the cost and procedure?

I am an Australian resident going on a cruise from Brisbane to Hong Kong including one day in Shanghai.

If your total stay in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you needn't apply one. If you plan to get off the ship and visit the city, then you just apply for the stay permit at the port border.
