can someone else apply the visa for me?

Question

I am an Ethiopian living and working Hargeisa, Somaliland. I would like to go to China for a month on a visit but do not want to take time from my vacation to apply for the entry permit. Can my husband take my passport and all supporting documents for us and apply for the both of us in Addis? Do I have to be present to apply?

Besma, dear, your husband can possibly apply it for you, but you should be in Ethiopia during the application process. In addition, the consulate may require you to accept a face-to-face interview.
