Can I cancel my Student Residence Permit and get a 1 month L Visa?

I am not enjoying my classes at university, so I would like to quit and get an L type. I have a flight home booked already that is in 3 weeks time, but I am worried that the school will cancel my student X type/residence permit as I have very low attendance.

So is this possible? I saw someone else asked the same question but I just want to be sure, my concern is that they don't give me 30 days and I have to leave before the day of my flight. The cost of an L type is not a problem for me
