About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 visa free exemption transit

Hi

I am travelling from Dubai to Tokyo. The first flight is from Dubai to Shanghai (with a technical stop in Kunming). I have a 5 hour layover before the Shanghai to Tokyo route. I am a UK national. Do I apply for the 72 hour free permit?

Thanks

Will

Hello, if you stay in Kunming and Shanghai for less than 24 hours in total, you can use the 24 hour direct transit. As for 72 hour policy, one is permitted to stop over in one Chinese city only.
