can i cancel my student residence permit and apply for tourist L visa?

Rahat, you can cancel your student residence permit and apply for a tourist L type good for about one month at the local exit and entry administration bureau.

You mean you want to transfer from a school to another? You can't enroll and study at another school with the L type. You need to get another X type with the help of this school and renew your residence permit if you get the X1 type.

But school management don't provide me an NOC (non objectionable certificate) then what should i do to transfer from this university to another university ?

If the former school does not give you this certificate, I'm afraid you can't get transferred to another school and the school has the right to tell the exit and entry admiinstration office to cancel your residence permit.

is it possible that i go to Pakistan and go to Chinese embassy and tell them to cancel my residence permit and then apply for another entry permit?

You should cancel your residence permit at the exit and entry administration office in PRC. Then go back to your country and apply for another X type at the PRC embassy.

There is no time limit for this. You can set about applying for a new X as soon as you get back to your country.
