Indian travelling from USA to India AND India to USA. Do I need a transit visa?

Hi,

I am an Indian student studying in USA. While travelling from USA to India and India to USA I have layover at Ganzhao for 10 hours. I am flying with Southern China and they said they don't have the information if I require a transit type. Please assist

Your transit is less than 24 hours so that you needn't apply for the G type because you enjoy 24 hours free transit.
