Hey, you can't apply for the resident permit directly. You should apply for a Q1 type first. It requires the invitation letter from your Chinese wife, a copy of her Chinese ID card and your marriage certficate (original and copy). Actually, it's just a 30 days single entry permit. It takes around 4 days to deal with your application. Upon arrival, you need to change it into a resident permit within 30 days. It takes around 7 to 15 days handle your application.

In fact, there are no standard questions. The basic princle is that you perform naturally and answer the questions honestly. According to some foreigners' tips, you'd better wear decently. As for duration of stay, it actually has something to do with your wife's assets. You know, you can't work under Q1 resident permit. So your wife is your financial resources. The more money she has, the longer duration of stay you will get. Usually, it is less than five years.

Ahmed, the longest resident is 5 years. It doesn't mean that you can get a five-year long resident permit for sure. If you apply for the first time and your wife assets is limited, I think you can only get a one or two years resident permit.
