About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I'll be coming in on a Cruise Ship, Shanghai is final port. Can I use the 72 hour visa-free transit?

I have a U.S. passport. The cruise started in Tokyo. We want to visit Shanghai for three days, which includes a visit to Shanghai Disneyland. After the three days we will fly back to the United States.

Dear Sylvia, sorry to tell you that you cannot use the 72 hour free transit because according to the regulations, the 72 hour policy is only applicable for air passengers. In this case, you should apply for transit or tourist type in advance.
