About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Airline layovers eligible?

I would like to take a flight from Bangkok to Chengdu, stay in Chengdu for 2 days, then fly to Auckland, New Zealand with a short layover in Bangkok. Given that I will be flying from and to Bangkok, is this eligible for a transit visa in Chengdu? The ticket from Chengdu would be to Auckland but changing planes in Bangkok.

Hey, man, I’m afraid you cannot use the free transit because the 72 hour transit policy stipulates that your departure place and your destination shouldn’t be the same one, but according to what you mentioned, you fly from Bangkok to Chengdu and then you fly back to Bangkok.
