About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from Vancouver, BC to Shanghai to Delhi

Hello I arrive in Shanghai from Vancouver on Dec 13th at 5am in the morning and fly out at 1:45pm the same day to Delhi, India.

I'm wondering do I need to apply for a visa to leave the airport for 5 hours to see Shanghai? I assume the Direct Transit applies to me because I will be there for less than 24 hours.

Thanks!

Miller, you can use the 24 hour direct transit and if you want to leave the airport to see Shanghai, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
