About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I need a visa for 25 hour layover in Kunming?

I have a trip planned on Nov 18th from Minneapolis to Kathmandu. Due to a schedule change that occurred I now have a 25 hour layover in Kunming, China. Is an entry permit required?

Hello, Amanda, if you travel this route by air, then you don’t need an entry permit because you can use the 72 hour free transit.
