About:China Business Visa

Holding China Visa and want to travel to Hongkong for Vietnamese

Hi all
I will get the training in Shenzhen for a month, and I would like to travel Hongkong in weekend. Can I apply Hongkong entry permit from Vietnam or VOA? Do I also apply Multiple entry or single entry of Chinese entry permit?

Hello, Tien, I'm afraid you cannot apply VOA and you should apply for a normal entry permit in advance. Do you plan to enter Shenzhen first, visit HK and then go back to Shenzhen? If so, I think you can apply for a double-entry permit of three-month validity. You know, if you come to PRC for the first time, it's hard to gain a multiple-entry permit.

Thanks Nick. I travelled to Beijing last year with transit visa. If I fly from Vietnam to Hongkong first and then spend there a few hours before getting train to Shenzhen, can I apply Hongkong transit type or tourist type entry permit? Do you know how long does it often take for transit type?

Dear, transit type is enough for your situation. If your application is handled by the embassy, it takes about 4 working days; but if the application is transferred to the HK SAR Immigration Department, it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.
